Suzie McLellan is a director and theater educator based in Albany and Boston. In addition to her work as a stage director, career high lights include teaching in Hong Kong and Beijing, serving as theater department head at a private school, and internships with McCarter, BAM, and The Wooster Group. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and the Eugene O'Neill National Theatre Institute.
Her love of text based and ensemble pieces can be seen in her work with young actors, Shakespeare, and all female productions. Suzie's other interests include Chinese history, culture, language, and film, youth outreach, and working with homeless children. She has been invited to speak about youth relations in Russia and at the National Charter Schools Conference.
Currently the artistic director of Backyard Rodeo Theatre, she can also be seen on stage in the Capital Region.
